Today GoDaddy, the largest domain registrar in the world, suffered a massive infrastructure failure. This outage affected millions of websites. While we don’t host any of our sites or services with GoDaddy, we registered our domains through them and have been using them as our DNS provider. As a result, some of the traffic destined for our servers couldn’t find us on the Internet. This also affected our company email. I personally couldn’t access our sites at different points in the day and found it very frustrating. While we don’t know to what extent this problem affected each of our individual customers, we know that all of our services continued to operate throughout the outage. We saw normal levels of lead flow in LeadConduit throughout the day. However, if any of your lead providers were unable to connect to our servers when submitting leads today, please ask them to resubmit the leads.

While it appears the overall impact on our services by this outage was minimal, this is still an unacceptable situation. We are moving to a new DNS provider that provides a more robust service. We’re committed to providing 100% uptime and cannot accept the risk that this could happen again at GoDaddy. If you have any questions or concerns about what happened today or how it was handled, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We apologize for any problems this may have caused you.
