Nothing concentrates the mind like an imminent deadline.
Although new requirements for Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) compliance were announced in February 2012, the Oct. 16, 2013 deadline for implementation has many marketers and compliance officers scrambling for a proof of consent solution for their internet leads.
A couple of times in the past year we have experienced service interruptions due to DNS related issues. We have taken a number of steps to protect our services from these types of disruptions in the future. In a continuation of those efforts, this weekend we will be moving DNS providers for some of our services that were not transitioned previously: leadconduit.com and trustedform.com. While we anticipate no downtime, there could be intermittent disruptions due to the global propagation window. The updates this weekend will complete our transition to a more reliable DNS provider.
On October 16, 2013, the rules for telemarketers are changing dramatically. On that date the new updates to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) go into effect. The FCC made updates to the TCPA that require prior express written consent for certain types of commercial phone calls and text messages to consumers. Among other things, the new rules require that marketers have prior express written consent to autodial or send pre-recorded messages to cell phones.
